Clean water and sanitation for two village schools

CSR activity18 September 2024
An overhead water tank installed under Inland Power's CSR programme at a village school near Ramgarh.

Under its CSR programme, IPL improved drinking-water and sanitation facilities at two schools in the villages around its Ramgarh campus, addressing water scarcity that was affecting students' health and attendance.

At Saram School, IPL installed a new motor and pipeline system to give students a continuous supply of safe drinking water during school hours. At Serengatu School, where sanitation was a particular concern for girl students, the company installed a new overhead water tank and connected pipelines to the school's bathrooms and sanitation areas.

  • Saram School: new motor and pipeline for continuous safe drinking water
  • Serengatu School: new overhead tank ensuring regular water availability
  • Pipeline connections to bathrooms and sanitation areas
  • A focus on hygiene and privacy for girl students

The schools now have clean, safe sanitation environments. Better facilities have improved comfort, privacy and attendance (particularly for girl students) and raised awareness of hygiene and safe-water practices.
