Inland Green Energy, the grain-based ethanol unit of Inland Power Ltd., has begun dispatching fuel-grade ethanol from its 350 KLPD distillery at Inland Nagar, Ramgarh, Jharkhand.
The distillery produces fuel-grade ethanol from surplus grain, with a co-located 12.5 MW co-generation unit meeting the plant's captive steam and power demand. Ethanol is lifted from the plant gate by Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum under long-term off-take arrangements.
At the oil marketing companies' depots the ethanol is blended into petrol under the Government of India's Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) programme. Dispatch volumes will scale as the plant moves to steady-state operation.
